FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

Are there refunds if guests leave due to rain? No, but you can check with the ticket booth before you leave Cornbelly’s to see if they will give you a rain ticket or discount voucher, allowing you to return on a future date.

Can groups bring their own food? Absolutely. Though we do sell lots of yummy food onsite, you are welcome to bring your own as well. We have a large grassy area and picnic tables that are available on a first-come-first-serve basis. Additionally, we do have private tent areas that can be reserved for groups or parties. Check our Group& Parties page for more details on this.

What age is Cornbelly’s most appropriate for? One of the great things about Cornbelly’s is the fact that it offers something that everyone, of all ages, can enjoy. From babies, all the way up to grandma and grandpa, our goal is to make sure everyone in your group leaves with memories to cherish.

How scary is the haunted maze? Cornophobia is appropriate for older children and adults. Since each child is different, we leave it up to you, as the parent, to decide if your child would enjoy the haunted experience. While we avoid unnecessary gore, this is a dark cornfield and you will undoubtedly encounter some startling things lurking in the corn! If you are looking for a more kid-friendly Halloween experience, we recommend the Spooktacular Jack-o-Lantern Hayride and the regular un-haunted maze.

How big is the maze? The three mazes (the maze, kiddie maze and Cornophobia haunted maze) are cut into 12 acres of corn.

How long does it take to get through the maze? It all depends on many wrong turns you take. The average person will finish the coin maze within one hour. The kiddie maze and haunted maze are both shorter and should only take about 15 minutes to navigate. Some people have taken a lot longer and a few a bit quicker. For those who are afraid about the time it will take to finish the maze, we do have Corn Cops in the maze who can help you find an exit.

Will I get lost? We hope so! It’s designed to be that way. While everyone does get lost to different degrees, we have designed the maze to be an interactive activity that makes a trip inside the maze more than just a walk through some corn. At the beginning of your visit you have the option of taking a "passport". The ten questions on the passport will help you make your way through the maze.

How do you make the maze? It’s taken lots of practice…12 years of it to be exact! Our particular process of making the maze is a trade secret, but we can tell you that we plant the whole field in the spring and then cut out the design when the corn plants are still fairly short. The design is created on a computer and then transferred into the corn field.

Can I eat the corn? You could, but it would not taste very good. The variety of corn that we grow is field corn for cattle.
